Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant Specialist to join our team at OrthoNY.

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of recent experience in nursing and excellent communication and customer service skills.

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Casting and DME Application

As a Medical Assistant Specialist at OrthoNY, you will be responsible for applying casts, performing dressing changes, and managing durable medical equipment (DME) applications.

Key responsibilities include preparing the patient for the exam by performing preliminary tests as needed, reporting relevant information to the provider, and assisting the provider with patient care as requested.

You will also be responsible for reviewing treatment procedures with patients, assisting in ordering tests/retrieving results, and reviewing discharge instructions.

In addition, you will assist physicians with patient care tasks, perform scribe duties as needed, and prepare injections, obtain cultures as ordered/needed.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted current LPN license to practice nursing in NYS required;
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records (EMR) preferred;
  • CPR certification preferred.
