Texas Biomed is seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Pathology Assistant I to support our research team. This role involves performing necropsy duties to monitor the health of non-human primate colonies and assist in the collection of tissue samples.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and coordinate activities for the necropsy facility, including scheduling with PIs and research coordinators.
- Prepare the necropsy room, including verifying animal information and preparing instruments.
- Partner with a pathologist to perform necropsies and handle tissue collections.
- Operate a bone saw and digital camera to collect and document tissue samples.
- Clean and sanitize the necropsy room, and dispose of biohazardous materials.
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences with anatomy course completion.
- Hands-on experience in anatomy lab or equivalent work experience.
- AALAS ALAT, LAT, or LATG certification or equivalent.
