Position Overview
At Vidant Health, we are committed to providing exceptional patient-centered care. As a key member of our pharmacy team, the Pharmacy Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Demonstrates proficiency in clinical practice and fulfills staffing responsibilities, which may include obtaining credentials as a clinical pharmacist practitioner. Staffing duties typically comprise 40-60% of the role, including weekend and holiday rotations.
2. Takes responsibility for the safety and quality of pharmacy services in the designated area. Actively engages in continuous quality improvement initiatives and manages medication error reporting.3. Collaborates in setting and designing objectives for teams, ensuring pharmacy representation on institutional committees, and supporting participation from team leaders and members.4. Oversees Team Leaders, providing coordination and evaluation of staff development opportunities. Mentors staff through effective team building and educational initiatives.5.Works alongside the Associate Director of Clinical Services to assess staff performance, conduct annual evaluations, and manage disciplinary actions.
6. Participates in budgetary planning and monitors drug expenditures within specific cost centers.7. Engages in the development of new programs, services, and practices, establishing metrics to evaluate their impact.8. Provides support to both internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met effectively.9.Contributes to the educational mission of Vidant Health by training pharmacy students and residents.
10.Ensures adherence to all relevant federal, state, and hospital policies and regulations; oversees the review and revision of pharmacy policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A college degree in Pharmacy (BS, MS, or PharmD).
- A current pharmacy license in North Carolina or eligibility for licensure.
- A minimum of two years of post-graduate experience or completion of a PGY2 Administrative residency.
- Managerial or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
