Product Counsel

At Netflix, we're seeking a skilled Counsel, Products to join our Product & Tech Legal group. As a key member of our team, you'll support the Content Operations & Innovations team in Netflix's VFX, post, and virtual production operations, as well as their research & development efforts in creative technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Partner with our VFX and virtual production teams to provide proactive and trusted legal support.
- Provide on-the-set legal support, making timely and informed judgment calls to mitigate risks while meeting tight production deadlines.
- Counsel our innovations teams on emerging technologies and techniques that improve content creation and creative iteration, media pipelines, and workflows.
- Counsel on VFX capacity deals and services agreements, SaaS/software engagements, and hardware purchasing, working in partnership with our contracts managers.
- Serve as a throughline for relevant business units and the broader legal team, keeping everyone informed and connected, and coordinating closely with subject matter legal experts as necessary.
- JD and active bar membership in good standing, with 5+ years of legal experience in the entertainment and/or technology industries, preferably in production and/or legal affairs, and a focus on current and emerging creative technologies.
- Clear communication skills, with the passion and courage to collaborate and share information and ideas, and bridge business units to provide clear sightlines.
- The ability to quickly discern practical real-world risks from theoretical ones, with the wisdom to thrive in a loosely coupled world where we lean into integrity and judgment over rigid rules and inflexible processes.
