We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Lead to join our team at Whitsons Culinary Group. As a key member of our nutrition services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to students in a safe and healthful manner.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Planning and Execution
Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of students, while also ensuring that meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.
- Food Safety and Quality Control
Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and served in accordance with state and federal health department regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Team Management
Supervise and train a team of food service staff to ensure that they are equipped to provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
- Inventory Management
Manage inventory levels to ensure that all necessary supplies are on hand, while also minimizing waste and reducing costs.
- Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and school administrators, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements- Education
A high school graduate or equivalent is required. A degree in a related field, such as nutrition or food service management, is preferred.
- Experience
At least one year of professional food service experience is required. Experience in a school food service setting is preferred.
- Skills
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is primarily in the kitchen and on the serving line. The noise level is moderate to loud, and the work requires standing for most of the day. The temperature in the kitchen can be extreme, with hot and cold temperatures present due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of the job include standing for most of the day, walking, talking, and hearing. The ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds is required, as well as the ability to bend and stoop to perform tasks.
