Job Title: Director of Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Construction to join our team at Specialized Recruiting Group - Charlotte, NC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our construction operations and ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Job Summary:

The Director of Construction will oversee the design and implementation of strategies to drive the field operations of our business organization. This includes managing construction project execution from start to finish, ensuring projects move forward on schedule and on-budget, and evaluating and enforcing safety standards on site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction project execution from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising.
  • Ensure projects move forward on schedule and on-budget while overcoming any challenges.
  • Evaluate and enforce safety standards on site and secure compliance.
  • Formulate strategy, improve performance, and procure labor resources for their sector.
  • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies for achieving operational targets within established budgets.
  • Monitor company personnel to ensure they perform their duties in a timely and effective manner.
  • Build and establish great coworker relationships by assisting field personnel in avoiding obstacles associated with operational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and management of the operations budget.
  • Continuously monitor customer satisfaction level to ensure company operations meet client expectations.
  • Plan and organize training programs for company staff to enhance their job knowledge and skill.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, such as promotions, salary negotiation, and transfer of direct reports.
  • Develop and implement policies for maximizing operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Address and resolve all issues concerning field office operations.
  • Monitor key metrics and develop action plans for improving company profits.
  • Develop and implement best practices and procedures to enhance business growth.
  • Motivate and reward high-performing employees by recommending salary increases, bonuses, or promotions.
  • Identify and introduce new proposals and technology to enhance business productivity.
  • Collaborate with functional units of an organization to integrate new or existing services.
  • Manage services provided by the company to ensure they meet client expectations and requirements.
  • Build and maintain positive trust relationships with customers to minimize clientele attrition.
  • Create work shifts and assign duties to company staff and subcontractors to ensure efficient operations.
  • Create and oversee the implementation of field tools to enhance operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Suite.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized production team.
  • Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance.

Working Environment and Conditions:

This position requires working in an office and field environment. Individuals may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all-weather conditions.
