Job Title: Behavioral Health Clinician

Mental Health Cooperative is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Clinician, you will work with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health and provide a combination of behavioral health clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform face-to-face intake for consumers who have been referred to MHC and assess for care management, medication management, or therapy eligibility.
  • Determine an individual's appropriateness for care management, medication management, or therapy and assign to all that are appropriate.
  • Disposition consumer to appropriate Agency for other mental health services when ineligible for care management.
  • Identify individuals that are in need of MCRT services rather than a routine intake. If appropriate, facilitate crisis action.
  • Assist in resolving any grievance received from a consumer regarding referral.
  • Fill in for Admissions Coordinator as indicated by supervisor.
  • Utilize Intake Committee for all consumers who meet criteria who have a history of violence, sexual crimes, or serious criminal activity.
  • Write completed intake and email to Intake Committee for review. Contact consumer with decision.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic framework, counsel consumers and patients, individually and group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
  • Guide consumers in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems using evidence-based modalities.
  • Encourage consumers to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in consumer's status.
  • Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting consumers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and consumers' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Refer patients, consumers, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
  • Meet with families, clinic providers, care managers, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, primary care practice partners, including pediatricians, doctors, nurse practitioners, office staff, and referral sources as assigned to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Meet productivity standards as indicated by department goals.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree (M.A., M.S.) in Mental Health field
  • Licensed or License-eligible with either with LPC/MHSP, LCSW, or LMFT in the state of TN.
  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
  • Personal Automobile Insurance
