The University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Instructor for a one-year, CAST-Accredited fellowship in Neurotrauma. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with world-renowned faculty and staff, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge procedures and research that improve the health and clinical care of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced patient care in clinical specialty, including inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Precept medical students and/or residents, and provide lectures or lead small group discussions as part of the COM or residency curriculum.
  • Act as a liaison between current residents and attending physicians at UCMC, CCHMC, and VAMC.
  • Supervise clinical duties, administrative functions, and other activities determined by the program director and senior faculty.
  • Coordinate and triage outside admissions to UCMC medical teams.
  • Serve as on-call physicians for UCMC, VAMC, and CCHMC medical services 365 days/year.
  • Mentor residents as they progress through training.
  • Create and maintain academic curricula, including academic half-day, morning report, and advanced ambulatory practice conferences.
  • Participate in hospital and medical school committees as appropriate.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Unrestricted Ohio medical license.
  • ABNS Board certification/board eligibility required.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency training program in neurological surgery.
  • Post-chief PGY-7 candidates will be considered on an individual basis.
