Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Mail Clerk 2 to join our team at the State of Iowa. As a Mail Clerk 2, you will be responsible for sorting and distributing incoming mail, screening mail parcels, and ensuring compliance with Department of Corrections (DOC) mail policy and IMCC mail procedure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail from the post office for incarcerated individuals and staff
  • Screen mail parcels through the external mail service (Pigeonly) and approve or reject them in accordance with DOC mail policy and IMCC mail procedure
  • Scan and distribute mail parcels from the external mail service to incarcerated individuals and staff
Requirements
  • One year of full-time work experience processing mail
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch with experience equal to six months of work as a Mail Clerk 1
