Mold Technician

Lund Inc is seeking a skilled Mold Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing mold changes, diagnosing, and assisting in the repair of Molding Presses and ancillary equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mold change activities to ensure proper equipment changeovers.
- Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion.
- Perform operational procedures to ensure the quality of the product produced.
- Identify the proper tooling required for pending production.
- Inspect the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear.
- Assist other maintenance employees with repairs, PM, installation commissioning, and testing of equipment.
- Analyze and resolve all issues related to the equipment.
- Keep all molds/tools in good and safe condition and ensure molds/tools are returned to their appropriate location.
- Ensure mold is stored in the designated area after the job is completed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred.
- Prior experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment required.
- Thermoforming, Injection Mold, or related machine operator experience required.
- 5 years plastic injection molding, electricity, and controls, hydraulic and pneumatic preferred.
- 3 years provincial/industrial mechanic, fabrication preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Ability to develop alternative solutions.
- Ability to work well in group problem-solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic drawings and prints.
Working Conditions:
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
