Job Summary

Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system that prioritizes patient care and well-being. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to individuals and families throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, vascular imaging, and provide sonography guidance for interventional procedures, in accordance with department policies and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
  • Use independent judgment and thorough understanding of equipment and positioning to provide optimum service to patients and providers.
  • Complete procedures in compliance with physician orders and department guidelines, identifying patients with two identifiers, documenting accurately all needed aspects of the procedure, and observing and communicating with patients, responding to needs.
  • Maintain a safe patient environment in the procedure area, perform procedures with a high degree of accuracy, and demonstrate appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment.
  • Provide accurate clerical functions, using Excellian (electronic medical record), understanding the storage and retrieval system, and ensuring all documentation is complete post-procedure.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team members, reporting problems, issues, or ideas, providing assistance, ideas, and information to support the work of others, and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology and 2-year School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
  • 0 to 2 years Diagnostic Sonography experience.
  • Certified Ultrasound Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Required registered in abdomen, and/or OB/GYN, registry eligible upon hire or Certified Ultrasound Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography registered in Breast upon hire required for Piper Breast Center Locations.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required registered RVT upon hire for AHG Clinic Locations and St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required registry eligible, registered within 6 months for Hospital locations.
  • BLS Tier - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire.
