Creative Visual Communications Specialist

FASTSIGNS® of Durham, NC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Creative Visual Communications Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating computer-generated vinyl and full-color graphics output, as well as working with clients through the sales process.
Job SummaryThe Creative Visual Communications Specialist will have a dual role working in the design/production room and as an Inside Sales Representative. In the design/production room, you will be responsible for creating high-quality visual communications solutions that meet the needs of our clients. This includes designing and producing computer-generated vinyl and full-color graphics output, as well as assembling signs from computer-cut vinyl and wide-format full-color printouts. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for answering phones, responding to client emails, building estimates and orders using our CRM online system, and serving as a point of contact for our clients throughout the sales process.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with co-workers and customers on file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, and online proofs
- Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printer
- Provide proofs as necessary
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of File Storage and Disks
- Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full-color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium
- Prepare substrates for application
- Perform finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces
- Install signs when necessary
- Answer phones professionally
- Respond to client emails and assist through the sales process
- Build estimates and orders for clients
- Consult with clients both in person and over the phone on design, sales status, or any other issue
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced education degree in design/communication preferred but not required
- Experience as a graphic designer and sign-related production specialist preferred but not required
- Adobe application knowledge required; 3+ years experience preferred, but less is okay for the right candidate
- Strong PC and Mac skills and internet required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa)
- Able to work well under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift 50 or more pounds occasionally
- Able to lift 25 or more pounds regularly
- Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back-and-forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
- Able to use, or willing to be taught how to use light power equipment, such as power screwdrivers and power drills
