Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator II to join our team at Della Infotech. The successful candidate will be responsible for the selection, implementation, support, maintenance, and upgrade of server and storage systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with peers, customers, and leadership to ensure the health, capacity, patch level, and overall status of systems are communicated effectively.
Provide technical recommendations and solutions to meet business problems.
Apply patches and upgrades to systems, and perform system checkout and verification of change.
Implement new systems and retire older equipment.
Develop and follow change management documentation, including back out plans.
Document system changes through change management, team processes, and procedures, configuration management databases, and system diagrams.
Collaborate and communicate with other IT groups to stay informed of changes and developments that may impact production, QA, and development systems.
Optimize current processes and develop new processes as required.
Assist in establishing performance metrics and measurement and reporting of established metrics.
Provide level 2 or 3 support.
Write technical specifications for the purchase of hardware and systems software.
Make recommendations for software/hardware based on research in support of procurement efforts, when appropriate.
Build servers and new system implementation.
Troubleshoot network, storage, server, cabling, database, operating system, and application elements of a system.
Act as a liaison and advocate for systems and the tools, processes, and procedures necessary throughout the lifecycle of technology.
Administer and implement security processes and procedures.
Monitor the performance and availability of systems.
Document policies, procedures, and systems architecture.

Requirements

Associated degree in a technical field or an additional year of experience required.
3 years of system administration experience in a Linux and/or Windows environment.
3 years of experience with backup software and methodologies.
1-2 years of enterprise IT tools and enterprise IT team experience.
1 year of system documentation experience.
Demonstrated server/hardware experience with HP, IBM, and/or Dell products.
Demonstrated knowledge of Linux, Windows, or Unix operating systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of VMware.
Demonstrated knowledge of Citrix, virtual apps, and VDi, WEM, and App Layering.
Working knowledge of Citrix NetScaler gateway, load balancing, and SSL offloading.
Basic knowledge of networking and TCP/IP.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands

Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment.
Ability to communicate and exchange information.
Ability to comprehend and interpret documents and data.
Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects (up to 50 lbs.).
Requires manual dexterity to use a computer, telephone, and peripherals.
May be required to work extended hours for special business needs.
May be required to travel at least 10% of the time based on business needs; at times on short notice.
