We are seeking a highly skilled Monitor Technician to join our team at Penn State Health. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for observing patient heartbeat patterns, noting irregularities, and ensuring that heart monitors are functioning correctly.

About the Role

This is a per diem position with varying shifts available, including 8-hour flexible shifts. As a Monitor Technician, you will be working closely with RNs and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Observe patient heartbeat patterns and note any irregularities
  • Ensure that heart monitors are functioning correctly
  • Report any concerns to the RN in charge of the patient/charge nurse
  • Possess troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems and seek solutions
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • AHA BLS certification prior to end of orientation
  • Preferred qualifications include six months of monitor tech or ED experience, heart arrhythmia course completion, or current nursing student status

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience.
