About the Role

Terry Reilly Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service from the moment they arrive at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Ensure that all patients and visitors receive a professional, courteous, and efficient experience throughout their visit.
  • Schedule and Register Patients: Accurately collect required data, determine eligibility for services, and counsel patients regarding payment policies.
  • Manage the Waiting Room: Maintain a comfortable and clean waiting area, keep patients informed about wait times, and ensure a smooth flow of patients through the facility.
  • Manage Financial and Insurance Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in our patient management system.
  • Perform Data Entry and Chart Preparation: Accurately enter patient registration records and prepare charts as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide exceptional service to a complex patient population.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate multiple computer software programs.
  • Basic Bookkeeping Skills: Ability to manage financial and insurance records, including cash handling and posting charges.
  • Self-Starter: Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Medical or Dental Setting: Previous experience as a receptionist or in a similar role in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong Bookkeeping or Accounting Skills: Experience with financial management and record-keeping.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
