Position Overview

The Technical Care Associate plays a vital role in delivering both direct and indirect support to patients, working under the supervision of registered nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care in alignment with established healthcare protocols and standards.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities and respond promptly to their needs.
  • Address inquiries and requests from patients and their families in a timely manner.
  • Collect and document essential patient care information as instructed.
  • Monitor and record patient intake and output, including necessary weight measurements.
  • Acquire and prepare patient care equipment as required.
  • Facilitate patient transportation as directed.
  • Perform various clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, applying therapeutic devices, and conducting basic medical tests.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient needs and maintain a safe environment.
  • Engage in educational activities to promote health and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient conditions and readiness for learning.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care services.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Uphold infection control protocols to minimize the risk of infection.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary supplies on the unit.
  • Provide support during emergency situations and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Complete the proper handling and delivery of specimens to the appropriate departments.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Nurse Aide or similar training program.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to engage with diverse audiences effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Nurse Aide.
  • Experience in patient care settings.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and basic medical procedures.
  • Current nursing students with clinical exposure are encouraged to apply.

Certifications & Clearances

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Additional training may be necessary for those returning to acute care settings after a significant absence.
  • Compliance with background check requirements.

Work Environment

This position may require flexibility in scheduling based on operational needs, including rotating shifts and on-call duties.
