About the Opportunity:
Compensation: $45,000 - $55,000 per year (estimated)

We are seeking an Education Assistant to join our team at Constellation Schools in Parma, Ohio. As an Education Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and staff to provide specialized educational assistance to students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students with academic requirements and grade-appropriate work
• Work with small groups of students, assisting with small group instruction
• Participate in identified training as necessary to meet the needs of student assignments
• May assist with lifting students, bathing, and/or personal assistance depending on student needs
• Follows all safety plans, rules, guidelines of the school
• Works one-on-one with students regarding academics, social skills, character education

Requirements:
• Educational aide or educator licensure required (ESEA Qualified)
• 1-2 years' experience preferred with students with special needs
• Maturity and patience required to support students academically and emotionally
• Ability to identify and refer situations to the Principal as needed
• Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness, monitoring own work to ensure quality
• Adaptability to changes in the work environment, managing competing student demands and dealing with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
• Consistently at work and on time, following instructions, responding to leadership direction, and soliciting feedback to improve performance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, sit to respond to student needs
• Willingness to physically restrain a child if/when necessary for student safety

Work Environment:
This position is located in a classroom setting or school environment. The physical demands of this position may be moderate at times. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.
