Overview:


The Sterile Processing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all medical instruments and supplies are maintained in a sterile condition for use in various healthcare settings, including surgical procedures and labor and delivery services.

This role requires strict adherence to medical and surgical asepsis principles and Standard Precautions at all times. The Specialist also oversees the inventory of medical equipment and ensures proper disinfection of patient care tools utilized within the healthcare facility. This includes the decontamination and sterilization of reusable instruments and supplies while utilizing appropriate protective gear.

Key Responsibilities:


Engage actively in infection control protocols by consistently applying Standard Precautions, following established workflow patterns, and maintaining effective barriers to contamination.

Processing and Assembly: Accurately assembles and processes sterile instruments, supplies, and other necessary items as required.

Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing course or equivalent training. Proficient understanding of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques. Familiarity with the principles of Standard Precautions.
