Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Community Medicine team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people in underserved communities.
Responsibilities- Provide medical care to animals in our clinics, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and other medical procedures.
- Administer injections, intubate animals, and perform venipuncture as needed.
- Monitor vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients and provide supportive care according to our Standard Operating Procedures.
- Communicate with clients in a non-judgmental and effective manner, providing basic veterinary medical concepts and explaining information provided by the veterinarian.
- Enter medical information into digital databases and represent the ASPCA in a professional and courteous manner.
- Current New York State Veterinary Technician License.
- Graduation from an accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program).
- Strong interest in animal welfare and serving underserved communities.
- Excellent animal handling skills and customer service skills.
- Ability to work standing for 8 or more hours and lift and carry 40-plus pounds repeatedly throughout the day with assistance.
- A competitive salary range of $34.60 - $37.00 per hour.
