About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team at Harmony Healthcare Long Island. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting oral health in our communities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough oral inspections and examinations to identify and diagnose oral health issues.
  • Order and take dental x-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Perform supra and subgingival scaling to remove plaque and tartar from teeth.
  • Place temporary restorations and recement crowns to restore teeth to their natural appearance.
  • Remove structures such as plaque, tartar, and calculus from teeth and gums.
  • Perform oral prophylaxis and polishing to remove stains and smooth out tooth surfaces.
  • Assist in teaching dental employees through in-service programs and training.
  • Participate in dental health education, including preventative care and nutrition.
  • Assist in the planning and development of programs for oral preventative care and coordinate dental treatment for patients or clients of community agencies.
  • Assist in oral health education activities at community agencies.
  • Participate in community oral health screening activities.
  • Assist in the maintenance of dental supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or when necessary.
Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma from an accredited Dental Hygiene School or College.
  • New York State License required.
  • Minimum of three years experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole preferred.
