Job Summary

Option Care Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Technician I to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prescription and Equipment Preparation and Processing
    • Review and validate prescription refill requests in accordance with Option Care Health policies and procedures.
    • Assist with preparing and dispensing medications and supplies.
    • Maintain equipment through calibration, inspection, cleaning, testing, and reporting any defects to the supervisor.
  • Patient Support and Experience
    • Collect and maintain patient information to ensure accurate planning of needed materials, supplies, equipment, and prescriptions.
    • Ensure a positive patient experience by answering patient questions and responding to patient requests.
  • Inventory Maintenance
    • Receive and verify quantities of incoming supplies and materials.
    • Stock and store new supplies and materials.
    • Review expiration dates and identify shortages.
    • Pick and pack materials and supplies.
    • Create tickets and track inventory through accurate data entry into applicable systems.
  • Site and Supplies Maintenance
    • Clean and sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows.
    • Clean and organize supplies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • 0 to 6 months of relevant experience.
    • Licensed or registered within 6 months of hire (if required by state).
    • Successful enrollment and completion of the OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).
  • Basic Qualifications and Interests
    • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Able to perform basic and intermediate-level mathematical calculations.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word.
    • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel.
    • Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching.
    • Ability to carry at least 30lbs.
Preferred Qualifications and Interests
  • Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
