Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team at Safeway. As a Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and improving customer satisfaction through data-driven insights and analytics.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Design and develop predictive models and algorithms to optimize business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends and patterns, and develop data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven decision making.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our data science capabilities.
Requirements
  • Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Math, or Statistics.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in applying data science and modeling methodologies, including regression models, survival models, ensemble modeling, NLP, recommendation algorithms, clustering, deep learning algorithms, and experimental design.
  • 2+ years of experience and proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Spark-ML.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to write production-level code in Python.
