Server Assistant / Food Runner Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Server Assistant / Food Runner to join our team at The Quoin, an upscale Mediterranean wood-fired inspired restaurant located in downtown Wilmington.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist servers in providing exceptional service to guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Deliver orders promptly and accurately, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  • Adhere to established service standards and protocols, upholding the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Check in with guests after courses are dropped to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
  • Assist servers in rotating and polishing glassware, silverware, and other service items, maintaining a clean and well-stocked environment.
  • Follow proper etiquette and communication protocols when interacting with guests, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
  • Arrive prepared with necessary tools, a laundered and pressed uniform, correct shoes, and a positive attitude.
  • Exhibit a strong, upbeat, and positive personality, with a commitment to high standards and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, with a team-oriented mentality and dependability.
  • Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Experience:

  • Knowledge of classic and current food and beverage trends.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of service experience in an upscale setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry 30-40 lb boxes, bins, and trays.
