The Senior Engineer will conduct site visits to assess design limitations and address construction-related challenges. This is a full-time opportunity available in Richmond, VA or Newport News, VA offices. Relocation assistance is available, and a hybrid work schedule may be arranged.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $180,000 annually, contingent upon expertise, skills, and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Application:
    • Develop structural designs in accordance with relevant building and material codes, assess existing structures, and recommend enhancements.
  • Design Coordination:
    • Prepare calculations, collaborate with other disciplines, review design documents, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Construction Assistance:
    • Examine shop drawings, engage in project meetings, conduct site evaluations, review testing documentation, and provide construction support.
  • Project Management:
    • Define project scope, estimate budgets and timelines, monitor project progress, and advise on resource allocation.
  • Leadership Development:
    • Guide structural engineering staff, act as a subject matter expert, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Experience in industrial and manufacturing environments.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MathCAD, SAP 2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, PIP, ACI, ASCE-7, and IBC.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory for client-related projects.
