Surgical Technologist II

As an Experienced Surgical Technologist, you will work with considerable independence and self-direction to ensure all necessary elements are in place for each surgical procedure. National certification must be continually maintained. Participates in the teaching of staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet all criteria for Surgical Technologist Level I, with the ability to work with considerable independence and self-direction.
- Ensure all necessary elements are in place for each surgical procedure.
- Participate in the teaching of staff and students.
- Maintain national certification.
Requirements
- One year of surgical technology work experience is required at this level.
- Certification required within three months of employment or at the discretion of the Department Director.
- Possesses knowledge of multiple types of equipment pertinent to Surgical Technologist role.
- Possesses knowledge of contents of multiple specialty instrument trays for assigned service.
- Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to perform core Operating Room procedures and specialty procedures in assigned services.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and operating room standards and procedures.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with others.
- Ability to stand continually for several hours, and to move, position, transport patients, stretchers, equipment, etc.
- Ability to concentrate on detail and adjust quickly to changes of assignment.
