We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse 3 Infection Control to join our team at the NYS Department of Health. This advanced performance level position coordinates and administers an infection control and prevention program for a facility, performing a wide variety of clinical, consultative, surveillance, education, training, and monitoring activities related to overall infection control and prevention among individuals, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and administers an infection control and prevention program for a facility
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures in support of an infection control and prevention program
  • Identifies, investigates, and reports infections among individuals and employees through ongoing surveillance
  • Conducts and/or oversees environmental surveillance rounds, periodically rounding treatment units for case findings and supervision of isolation techniques
  • Monitors and tracks infections, including healthcare-associated infections and rates and community-acquired pathogens or risks

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and infection control, with experience in developing and implementing infection control programs. The salary range for this position is $128,864 - $139,597 per year, which includes the statutory hiring rate, PS&T Grade 22, and additional geographic pay differential.
