Assistant Athletic Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to assist the Athletic Director in the delivery of the overall student athletic program. The successful candidate will be responsible for event supervision, staff development, equipment inventory, facility and contest management, summer camps, and web/media relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure personnel for athletic event supervision
  • Meet with staff to provide instruction and expectations for supervision responsibilities
  • Log all faculty supervision information on designated spreadsheet and submit to Athletic Director
  • Assist with athlete registration for fall, winter, and spring sports
  • Organize picture day for all sports and provide assistance to coaches and players
  • Attend all Head Coach's meetings
  • Attend Up-State 8 pre/post-season meetings for sports
  • Assist with indoor practice facility scheduling
  • Collect and compile completed vouchers and W-9s from contests
  • Communicate with lower level coaches to receive official's vouchers
  • Supply and collect W-9 forms from officials
  • Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling middle school games, officials, and transportation
  • Collect and report scores from middle school contests
  • Assist with maintaining the athletic website
  • Greet coaches, administrators, and teams
  • Open locker rooms and get officials signed in
  • Help with contest set-up and supervise games
  • Be familiar and prepared with emergency and safety procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Appropriate License (Professional Educator License with General Administrator or Principal endorsement or Educator License with stipulations with provisional educator endorsement)
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR and AED
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in coaching and administration/organization of athletics programs
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with proper technique
Terms of Employment
  • This is a 10 month position
