Position Summary
The Sales Leader is tasked with guiding a dynamic sales team to deliver an outstanding experience for clients. This role encompasses the selection, training, coaching, and development of top-tier Sales Associates, while driving exceptional performance within the sales team to enhance market presence, meet targeted unit sales, and achieve profit margins, all while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Interactions
This position engages daily with Customers, Sales Associates, fellow Managers, Financial Services Managers, and various support personnel.
Daily Responsibilities
- Leading both yourself and the team in alignment with the company's Vision and Mission.
- Establishing a clear vision and objectives for the sales team to meet performance targets in both new and pre-owned vehicle sales.
- Inspiring and motivating the team to reach key objectives, performance standards, and best practice methodologies.
- Driving business success through active involvement in daily operations.
- Overseeing the negotiation process with Sales Associates to ensure customers are well-informed about their vehicle purchase options and pricing.
- Evaluating vehicles for trade-in purposes.
- Managing customer traffic across three areas: Showroom, E-Commerce, and service.
- Collaborating with the General Manager and/or General Sales Manager to strategize and manage inventory for new and used vehicles.
- Assisting in the management of controllable expenses within the New and Used Vehicle Departments.
- Analyzing business performance to identify shortfalls and developing actionable plans for improvement.
Performance Metrics
- Achieving targeted unit sales and gross profit.
- Maintaining targeted Associate retention rates.
- Meeting targeted Customer Satisfaction Index scores.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in sales management within the automotive sector (preferably with domestic brands).
- Demonstrated success in automotive retail sales.
- Proven leadership capabilities to mentor and develop others.
- Ability to set and achieve specific performance goals.
- Commitment to delivering an exceptional Customer experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up abilities.
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with technology.
- Valid in-state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Active involvement in community service, volunteering, or similar initiatives supporting charitable causes.
Compensation Package:
- Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000
