Position Overview

Harbor Chase is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to providing exceptional dining experiences. We are seeking a dedicated culinary specialist to join our Dining Services team. This role involves assisting in menu preparation, managing inventory, and ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment. The culinary specialist is responsible for presenting food in an appetizing and visually appealing manner.

Work Schedule

The typical working hours for this position are from 11 AM to 8 PM, though variations may occur based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and communicate food and supply needs for upcoming menus.
  2. Assist with the receiving, rotation, and proper storage of food products.
  3. Prepare meals in accordance with nutritional guidelines and residents' individual dietary preferences.
  4. Support residents' independence during mealtime by providing necessary adaptive equipment.
  5. Coordinate food services for special community events as required.
  6. Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment to the Director of Food and Beverage.
  7. Ensure compliance with infection control standards in food storage and handling.
  8. Maintain a safe working environment and take responsibility for the safety of both staff and residents.
  9. Disclose any medications that may affect job performance.

  7. Understand and follow fire evacuation protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Experience in cooking for large groups is advantageous.
  3. Food preparation certification is preferred.

  5. Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety procedures is required.
