The Jewish Board of Children and Family Services is seeking a skilled Handyman to join our team. As a Handyman, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance and operations of our buildings and grounds, ensuring they are clean, properly functional, in good repair, safe, and secure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic building repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, and HVAC work.
- Responsible for grounds maintenance, including mowing, raking, weeding, planting, pruning, and removing ice/snow.
- Collect and manage trash removal and recycling, adhering to NYC DOS regulations.
- Move office furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Work from OSHA-approved ladders and work platforms to complete repairs and maintenance.
- Attend and complete required safety, security, and other trainings.
- Drive company vehicles as directed by management.
- Observe, document, and report any problems with the building, unit, or property.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalency required.
- Current, valid clean Driver's license required.
- Five years of experience in building construction/maintenance/repair preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and well-rounded hands-on mechanical skills.
