Position Overview

CARESTL HEALTH is a nonprofit organization recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to serving the St. Louis community through various health initiatives.

We are currently in search of Safety and Security Officers who will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and welfare of our staff, visitors, and patients across all health center locations. This role embodies the core values of CareSTL Health: Customer Service, Community, Commitment, Compassion, and Competence.


Key Responsibilities:

The following outlines the essential functions of the Safety and Security Officer. Duties may be reassigned as necessary to accommodate staffing needs or reasonable adjustments:


  1. Collaborate with health center personnel to mitigate potential security risks.
  2. Respond to emergencies across various scenarios.
  3. Serve as a safety escort for personnel, patients, and visitors upon request.
  4. Monitor the facility to ensure compliance with guidelines and policies, utilizing surveillance systems and conducting physical inspections of health center areas.
  5. Conduct regular patrols of buildings and parking areas to identify unsafe conditions and unsecured properties, aiming to prevent theft, injuries, or damage.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED as applicable.
  • Further education is advantageous.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in security is required.
  • Experience in a healthcare security environment is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and self-motivational abilities.

Transportation Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Submission of High School Diploma or GED as applicable.
  • Current registration with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry.
  • PPD or Chest X-ray documentation.
  • COVID-19 vaccination proof.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification as applicable.
  • Must obtain a Security License through the St. Louis County Private Security Division on the first day of employment.

Training Requirements:

  • Completion of all training courses mandated by the St. Louis County Private Security Division to maintain a valid Security License.

  • Clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
