Nursing Staff Coordinator Job Description

Washington Square Nursing & Rehab is seeking a skilled Nursing Staff Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing staffing schedules and job assignments to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage staffing schedules and job assignments to meet nursing department budgetary guidelines and needs.
  • Provide support to the building, including answering telephones and greeting guests and vendors.
  • Address employee satisfaction issues promptly and assist in resolving matters in a professional manner.
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff and demonstrate a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Act under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing and contribute to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Effectively manage a schedule of rotating agency personnel to meet facility needs.
  • Stay aware of Resident Abuse Reporting Law, Fire and Disaster Drills, and Resident Rights.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; sufficient experience and knowledge to perform job functions.
  • OnShift experience preferred.
  • Experience with Long Term Care scheduling a plus, but not necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess experience in typing, filing, copying, and other clerical functions.
  • Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project a professional image.
  • Meet health assessment requirements, including a two-stage Mantoux skin test.
  • Be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform tasks required.
  • State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification preferred.
