Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing CT procedures, operating CT equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CT procedures, including positioning patients, operating CT equipment, and ensuring proper radiation safety practices.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians, and fellow associates to ensure accurate and efficient care.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instruction and minimizing anxiety.
  • Operate CT equipment, including performing tube warm-ups and calibrations daily.
  • Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient comfort and ability.
  • Assume responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Assist the Radiologist/Physician during interventional CT procedures, and assumes aseptic surgical techniques.
  • Understand methods and is capable of performing venipuncture (using aseptic techniques).
  • Maintain archival storage of digitized data and perform routine cleaning of all CT equipment.
  • Provide practical instruction for students and maintain knowledge of and observes Universal precautions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program with 4-6 weeks training in CT scanning.
  • 1 or more year experience in general Radiology, including 6-12 months experience working with CT scanners.
  • Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Technician Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
