Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Video Compression Specialist to join our team at DISH. As a key member of our Technology department, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and verifying the reliability of all compression systems across our Uplink facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain compression systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Verify system availability and redundancy using available tools
  • Troubleshoot systems in the event of failures and implement corrective actions
  • Create workflow documents and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Work under limited supervision and drive tasks and communications with other work areas and departments
  • Train new employees on SOPs and general department/role knowledge
  • Support core and local service encoding, 3rd party encoding, and video handoff
  • Perform software download spooling for set-top boxes and provide emergency restoral support
  • Provide 3rd party Tier 1 support for multiple clients and assist with channel launch operations across all lines of business
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or vocational education preferred
  • 2-7+ years of progressively related experience
  • Complete knowledge of signal flow and department operational procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on and monitor systems regardless of content matter
  • Availability to work all shifts, including 24x7 teams
