Job Title: Kettle Coordinator/Assistant

Join The Salvation Army team as a Kettle Coordinator/Assistant and play a vital role in our annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign. As a key member of our Ithaca Corps Team, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and coordinating the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers, ensuring ample staff to meet location needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including kettle income information and volunteer hours.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of bell ringers and volunteers, ensuring effective coverage of kettle locations.
  • Coordinate transportation and logistics for kettle sites, including equipment setup and teardown.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with kettle site locations, local churches, schools, and service clubs.
  • Assist with Angel Tree and Adopt-A-Family programs, including toy pickup, volunteer recruitment, and gift preparation.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive a 12-passenger cargo/transport van.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead a team of volunteers and staff.
  • Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices, with experience in fundraising and event management.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
