Village Caregiving is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide various levels of support to our clients.

Available 24 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Hygiene Assistance: Provide essential care for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Medication and Ambulation Support: Help clients take prescribed medication and assist with ambulation.
  • Household Support: Assist with mobility around the house or outside, including doctor's appointments and walks.
  • Nutrition Planning: Plan and prepare meals.
  • Exercise Assistance: Assist with physical therapy exercises.
  • Shopping and Errands: Complete client shopping or accompany them to successfully do so.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Perform household duties.
  • Incident Reporting: Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
  • Daily Living Activities: Offer activities essential for daily living by assisting patients with meals, including serving and other tasks if necessary.
Requirements:
  • One-on-One Setting Experience: Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
  • Lifting Capacity: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with physical capability to perform job-related duties.
  • Reliable Transportation: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation every single day.
  • Compassionate Manner: Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Shift Flexibility: Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year).
  • Health and Safety Standards: Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
  • Care Quality Focus: Take pride in providing high-quality care.
  • Hoyer Lift Experience: Hoyer lift experience (specific to client).
