About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechatronics Engineer to join our team. As our first full-time engineering hire outside of leadership, you will play a critical role in driving growth and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, growing startup environment and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology.

The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of related experience and a strong background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related STEM discipline. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and testing innovative mechatronic improvements and solutions, as well as managing projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative mechatronic systems and solutions, including mechanical structures, electronic circuits, and software integration.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with our contract manufacturer to maintain our production and refurbishment processes, as well as identify and implement improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure high-quality output.
  • Oversee and enhance our quality assurance processes to ensure all systems comply with industry standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide technical support to customers, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, standard operating procedures, and maintenance protocols.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of related engineering experience.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience in providing technical leadership and support.
  • Experience with designing, building, testing, and troubleshooting mechatronic systems and equipment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and electronic circuit design and simulation software.
  • Programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, and Javascript.
