Fleet Maintenance Manager

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of our fixed route bus operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, managing a budget for the maintenance program, and supervising a team of technicians and service workers.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and direct a team of technicians and service workers to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and budgets to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance of 50+ buses, including light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Manage parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of maintenance materials.
- Implement and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Manage the financial and accounting aspects of the fleet maintenance operation, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including technicians, service workers, and management.
- Develop and maintain technical competence with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
- Display initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact at all times.
- At least three years of recent experience managing the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop similar in scope, size, and complexity.
- Experience managing/directing 10+ employees, including fleet technicians, service workers, and cleaners.
- Experience working with 50+ buses within the last year.
- Previous passenger transportation experience in a similar environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage and interface with clients.
- Ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
- Ability to properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments.
- Ability to manage the financial and accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
- Technical competence with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
- ASE or manufacturer's certifications are a plus.
- Technical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance.
- Solid knowledge of managing audits and PM schedules.
- Experience with diesel, CNG, and alternative fuels is a plus.
- CDL class B with passenger and airbrake endorsement is required.
Starting salary range: $90,000 - $105,000
