POSITION SUMMARY
A Food Service Specialist is tasked with ensuring timely, precise, and health-conscious meal delivery to patients while adhering to strict sanitation protocols.
This role involves collaborating with the trayline team to assemble meals, transporting food carts to designated areas within the facility, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of dietary needs across various patient categories. Additionally, the individual will acquire skills to assist with Utility Technician duties.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in food service, particularly in healthcare settings, is advantageous, with 1-3 years being ideal, or equivalent experience in fast-paced, task-oriented environments.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of food safety practices and personal hygiene standards. A familiarity with healthcare dietary categories and restrictions is essential, or the ability to master the BMH Dietary Manual within the first month of employment.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Proficiency in sanitary food handling is mandatory. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective time management abilities, are expected from all candidates.
ABILITIES
Successful candidates will have the capacity to learn and retain information regarding special and modified diets for patients. The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work independently while contributing to a team environment is crucial.
