Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Engineering & Design Services team at HII's Mission Technologies division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Requirements
  • 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 0 years of experience with a Master's degree in a related field, or 6 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Candidate must have experience working on ships.
  • Candidate must have strong proficiency in 2D & 3D AutoCAD.
  • Candidate must have experience with system analysis and requirements development.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of multiple disciplines, including piping, HVAC, structure, and electrical systems.
  • Candidate must have experience with system integration and testing.
  • Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with IDEA CAD Standards.
  • Prior experience working with NNS, NNSY, Ingalls, and PSNS Shipyards.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment and must be capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
