Job Title: Controls Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in our Hampton, NH office.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for controls engineering project requirements involving control panel design, RTU, SCADA, & PLC programming, networking, databases, instrumentation, check-out support, and start-up assistance for applications used in the Power Utility and Industrial market.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Clarify and document customer and Senior Engineer requirements for a given system.
  2. Maintain current customer relationships to promote repeat business.
  3. Develop Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), Test Plans, Software Design Specifications (SDS), and support documentation for successful job design, implementation, and completion.
  4. Design, develop, and implement control systems (logic software and hardware) to meet machine and integrated system requirements.
  5. Develop control architecture and network architecture documents and provide network design including IP schemes and network switch control logic software and user interface applications in control systems, using hardware and instrument components, integrated with ladder logic programming, SCADA, RTU, and other IED programming.
  6. Select correct hardware and software components to complete the project.
  7. Familiar with process instruments.
  8. Develop schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and design equipment panel layouts using AutoCAD software.
  9. Assist with initial start-up and debug integrated systems and the development of system automation and control system integration projects for clients in multiple industries such as Power Utility, Food, or Semiconductor.
Requirements:
  • Education: BSEE or BS Controls is preferred. Other related technical bachelor of science degrees or an AA in Engineering Technology or equivalent with equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of directly related experience in Energy, Power Utility, and Industrial Manufacturing.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Physical Demands of Position: Seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.
  • Working Conditions: Standard office environment, on-site office environment, and diverse industrial and Power Plant/Utility, switchyard environments with frequent PC usage, fax machines, copy machines, phones, and constant people interactions.
