Job Title: Staff Nurse

This position is responsible for performing nursing assessments in clinical settings, including triage, vital signs, diagnostic tests, and drug and alcohol testing. The successful candidate will ensure the medical assessment center operates smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calibrate all equipment daily at the beginning of each shift.
  • Perform all diagnostic tests.
  • Track, schedule, and monitor all medical surveillance examinations.
  • Perform screening elements for DOT or other federally mandated surveillance exams.
  • Data entry on all exams performed.
  • Perform drug (Urine) and alcohol collections on employees/candidates as needed.
  • Prepare daily Laboratory Activity reports.
  • Assist with drug and alcohol testing of follow-up program participants.
  • Assist physicians with examinations/evaluations as needed.
  • Assist with development and implementation of employee wellness programs.
  • Orders supplies as needed.
  • Perform front desk registration, as needed.
  • Records test data into electronic Medical Records system.
  • Audit all data entries.
  • May administer Hepatitis B, Tetanus-Diphtheria and Influenza vaccines as needed.
  • Monitor temperature of vaccine refrigerator and records in daily logbook.
  • Provide emergency care to employees/candidates.
  • Collect blood samples for Lead, and TB QuantiFERON as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Requires a valid NY State Nursing License.
  • A minimum of two (2) experience as a Staff Nurse.
  • CPR-D certified.
