As a Naval Budget Analyst, you will provide expert analysis and support in the realm of budget management for the Marine Corps. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments to ensure effective financial planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate programmatic forecasts to address future needs of the Marine Air Ground Task Force.
  • Contribute to the establishment of Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) timelines for MExW platforms.
  • Assist in formulating Program Objective Memorandum (POM) goals for both current and upcoming fiscal years.
  • Engage in identifying POM gaps and conducting thorough gap analyses.
  • Support portfolio management for relevant MExW / Programming Codes.
  • Participate in the development and response to urgent budget requests, including risk assessments for funding adjustments.
  • Assist in determining equipment fielding strategies and their associated financial implications.
  • Prepare presentation materials using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to effectively convey PPBE requirements and their potential impacts.
Additional Duties:
  • Contribute to the publication of the MExW Annual Report.
  • Compile and submit monthly progress reports to management.
  • Prepare travel documentation and reports as needed.
  • Complete mandatory annual government training.
Supervisory Role:
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
Educational Background:

Mandatory:
  • Bachelor's degree in a finance-related discipline from an accredited institution, along with 10 years of relevant experience; or
  • 15 years of substantial, relevant experience in Financial/Budget Analysis may substitute for a degree.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science in Financial/Budget Analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Adept at functioning effectively within a military staff environment, requiring coordination at Navy and Marine Corps service levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience Required:
  • Operational experience within the Department of Defense and Department of Navy PPBE processes.
  • Familiarity with the Program Budget Information System.
Work Environment:
  • Office-based environment, collaborating with a diverse group of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Potential for remote work arrangements, subject to client coordination.
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily sedentary work; may involve assisting in the movement of office equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work Schedule: Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with standard hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Licensing and Other Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License and be capable of operating both private and commercial vehicles as necessary.
  • Ability to obtain a contractor's common access card for identification and access to government systems.
Compensation: Salary and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.

Security Clearance: An active U.S. Secret level security clearance is required, along with the ability to obtain a Secure Internet Protocol (SIPR) access token for government systems.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to government or contractor facilities may be necessary, including potential weekend travel for meetings, conferences, or other events.
