About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team at Dennis Group. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our construction activities, including coordination of sub-contractors, site safety programs, project schedule, and project budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and update project scopes, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with project management
  • Manage project accounting, budgeting, and cost management
  • Establish and maintain site safety procedures with our safety team
  • Oversee process, mechanical, and utility equipment installations
  • Coordinate permitting, code, and regulatory administration and approval
  • Manage change orders and general construction administration
  • Coordinate field engineering and inspection activities
  • Manage third-party testing, inspection, and relationships
  • Research and implement construction management best practices
  • Collaborate with owners, sub-contractors, building officials, and our A/E team
  • Prepare and administer third-party agreements
  • Conduct jobsite walks and audits to ensure project progress and sub-contractor compliance
  • Procure project services and equipment
  • Manage project punch-list inspection and close-out activities
  • Promote continuous and productive communication between project participants
  • Support and coordinate facility start-up and commissioning
About You
  • Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • GPA: 3.0 or above
  • Familiarity with design-build construction method (strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for client interactions
  • Past job site experience working on industrial building projects (past internships strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with Excel and MS Project (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to work 10 days onsite, 4 days off, and be willing to relocate during the internship
  • Meet travel requirements of up to 100% travel to projects throughout the USA and Canada
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking on uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in various weather conditions
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers
  • Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, and other issues at the jobsite
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
