Job Summary

Under the supervision of a designated authority, the School Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students on school grounds. This includes monitoring student behavior during lunch periods and recess, both indoors and outdoors, to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor student activities during lunch periods and recess to ensure appropriate behavior and safety.
  • Direct students in the proper use of school equipment and facilities.
  • Prevent and intervene in student arguments and fights.
  • Intercept unfamiliar personnel on school grounds and request identification.
  • Assist instructors in providing first aid to students and accompany injured students to the school nurse.
  • Perform basic clerical and support duties, including providing library or office assistance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous education, training, work, or life experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the tasks listed.
  • A valid Alaska Driver's License.
Physical Requirements

This role requires Light Work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
