Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic 7-E9 to join our team at the State of Michigan. As a key member of our Natural Resources department, you will be responsible for maintaining all facets of maintenance at assigned facilities, including preventative and corrective maintenance to buildings, equipment, and fish life support systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment, and fish life support systems
  • Set up and take-down of equipment for fish stocking, spawning, marking, and grounds maintenance
  • Conduct construction, fabrication, and special projects
  • Operate tools and equipment associated with the maintenance trades
  • Work independently and as part of a hatchery team
Requirements
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Tanker endorsement and without an air brake restriction
  • Valid Unrestricted Driver's License
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation and meet 15-minute on-call response time requirement
  • Education typically acquired through completion of high school
  • Experience assisting skilled trades workers in the mechanical or electrical trades
