Job Summary

Miles Away Charter LLC seeks a dedicated and compassionate Bus Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our special education transportation department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and supportive travel experience for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist students with disabilities on and off the bus, adhering to their individual needs and requirements.
  • Supervise students as they board and leave the bus, as well as cross streets, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Accompany children into buildings and assist them in finding their way, providing a sense of security and support.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each student's unique medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs, adapting your approach to meet their diverse requirements.
  • Maintain order and manage student behavior, reporting any discipline issues to the appropriate administrator.
  • Foster open communication with teachers and parents regarding student behavior while on the bus, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • No prior experience is required, but a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and parents.
