Job Opportunity

Idaho Scientific is seeking a skilled FPGA Developer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing specifications for FPGA IP Cores, designing and implementing FPGA IP cores using VHDL, and developing embedded software using C for FPGA SoC designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop specifications for FPGA IP Cores
  • Design and implement FPGA IP cores using VHDL
  • Develop embedded software using C for FPGA SoC designs
  • Develop simulation test benches
  • Participate in all aspects of the product design life cycle, including system architecture, design, development, and verification
  • Document design and results
  • Work individually and with a team to complete tasks

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Ability to clearly capture complex technical concepts in writing for both technical and general audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • More than 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven FPGA RTL development experience with a strong body of work in VHDL or Verilog development
  • Fluent in VHDL or Verilog hardware description languages
  • Fluent in embedded C or C++ programming
  • Experience developing test bench simulations
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado and/or Altera Quartus software
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Security Clearance
  • Working knowledge of applied cryptography
  • Experience applying principles of cyber security to operational technology and embedded systems
  • Experience reverse engineering hardware and software
  • Knowledge of secure boot process
  • Experience developing RISC-V or other CPU microarchitectures
  • Experience developing PCI express or DDR controllers

  • The preferred work location is at Idaho Scientific headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
