Cashier Job Description

Hawk Nissan of St. Charles is a dynamic and rapidly growing automotive group with multiple dealership locations across Illinois. As a trusted name in the industry, we are committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations, from sales and service to customer satisfaction and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers at the cashier window, answer their questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.
  • Transaction Processing: Compute and record transaction totals, count money in cash drawers, and reconcile the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
  • Price Management: Establish or identify prices of parts or services and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or computers.
  • Customer Service: Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers, and compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records.
  • Administrative Support: Answer phones, perform receptionist work, assist the Fleet Department with clerical tasks, and file, scan, and perform other light office duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Cashier experience preferred, with dealership experience also preferred but not required.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in operating a cash register and computer proficiency.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 3 shifts a week, with night time shifts from 3:00PM-8:00PM, and Saturday shifts from 8:00AM-6:00PM, alternating every other week. Approximately 15-25 hours a week.
