Job Summary

Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Hazardous Waste Technician to join our team. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of hazardous waste at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and operate installation HW facilities in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Coordinate with MPM to manage Installation Accumulation Points.
  • Conduct compliance inspections of installation Initial Accumulation Points.
  • Develop and implement waste minimization activities to reduce hazardous waste generation.
  • Prepare HW containers for shipment and coordinate with transport/disposal contractors.
  • Submit weekly reports on containers awaiting shipment.
  • Develop custom reports to support environmental reporting requirements.
  • Inventory and maintain supplies to support HW requirements.
  • Conduct environmental sampling activities and perform waste characterization.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in hazardous waste management.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NACI certification.
  • Experience with management of hazardous waste in Florida and DoD hazardous waste operations.
  • Knowledge of EESOH-MIS and/or relational databases.
  • Microsoft software products, including Excel and Access.
Working Conditions

The incumbent may be subjected to rain, cold, bright sun, and other environmental conditions.
